The Temples
Temple of Juno (Hera Lacinia)
Situated at the summit of the hill, it is one of the most fascinating. Built around 450 BC, it preserves much of the northern colonnade and is famous for its panoramic position.
Temple of Concordia
The undisputed icon of the Valley. Thanks to its transformation into a Christian basilica, it has reached us in an exceptional state of conservation.
Temple of Hercules (Heracles)
The oldest temple on the hill (late 6th century BC). Although only eight columns remain today, its original grandeur was extraordinary.
Temple of Olympian Zeus
The titan of the Valley. It would have been the largest Doric temple in the ancient world. Today only the base and the remains of the gigantic Telamons are visible.
Temple of the Dioscuri
A modern symbol of Agrigento. The raised corner with four columns is a 19th-century reconstruction that creates an iconic image.
Temple of Hephaestus (Vulcan)
Located in the western area, it is less preserved but offers a fundamental insight into the extension of the ancient sacred city.
Temple of Asclepius
Located outside the city walls, it was dedicated to the god of medicine. It served as a sanctuary for healing pilgrims.
